Jehovah-Tsidkenu - Lord our Righteousness

Righteousness isn't a terribly popular word anymore so Jehovah-Tsidkenu, the Lord our Righteousness may not seem all that relevant in the 21st Century. We need to take a second glance however. This name of the Lord is one of the most powerful and comforting ones he has given us and an understanding will create a heart bursting with gratitude.

Righteousness means morally right or justifiable but some of its synonyms help us more: blameless, guiltless, holy, innocent, just, sinless. When God revealed himself as "THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS" in the Old Testament (Jeremiah 23:5-8) the people were anything but sinless and guiltless. In fact, they were in the process of being hauled off into exile and captivity for their constant and longstanding sin, idolatry, and unfaithfulness to the Lord.

They had been warned over and over through the prophets God had sent to them but their hearts were hard. Finally the judgment fell though God did it with the greatest reluctance. In the midst of that devastation, the Lord comforted them by revealing himself to them in a new way that would carry them through the tough times ahead. God never gloats over our sin; he always grieves. And if we are suffering the consequences of our own sin, he always has a plan to bring us back to where his blessings can again flow in our lives.

The promise of the Lord for the people of Israel was that he was going to send a Messiah, one who would sit on the throne of David again and provide a permanent sin solution. King David's reign and the glory years of the Jews were now a distant memory; the Messiah's rule and reign would be forever. Some 600 years later this prophecy was fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ.

How exactly is the Lord our righteousness? Since every one of us except Jesus has sinned, we have no right to stand before God and say; "Here I am Lord, right, just, sinless and blameless. I'm innocent God." But Jesus can stand before the Father and say all those things. So by carrying our sins on the cross, he is letting us ride on his righteousness. He can say to the Father; "I've got Barbara covered. Don't look at her sin because I paid for it and I want you to see her as blameless." The Father accepts Jesus' righteousness as if it were ours.

Do you start to see how exciting it is to be able to call the Lord, JEHOVAH-TSIDKENU? To some this concept is a stumbling block because it seems too good to be true. Yes, I agree that it is simple - simple enough for anyone to understand, but it is not too good to be true. It is true. Well, you say, what's the catch? The catch is that you have to accept it. It is not forced on anyone. We all continue to have a free will and God desires that our relationship with him is given freely from our heart with love.

If you have never called upon Jehovah - Tsidkenu and would like to begin this relationship for the first time this may help you. If you know him but you've never quite grasped this truth or you feel dirty based on all your bad choices and sin, take heart. Begin again. As I said before; he never gloats; he's always on the lookout for you to return to him. Remember the story of the Prodigal son? See Luke 15:10-24. Call upon the Lord your righteousness today for the first time or for the 100th time. His arms are open wide to you.

SPEAKING IN TONGUES

You don’t speak in tongues and then know you have the Holy Ghost. No, you believe you have the Holy Ghost first, and then you speak in tongues. Notice Acts 2:4: “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost . . . .” If we stop reading there, we know that they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. But if we continue reading, we find, “. . . and [they] began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance” (Acts 2:4). Speaking with other tongues was a result of those believers having received the Holy Ghost. You receive the Holy Ghost first; then you speak in tongues.

You see, speaking in tongues edifies you. First Corinthians 14:4 says, “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself . . . .” Therefore, speaking in tongues is a means of spiritual edification or building up.

Linguists tell us that there’s a word in our modern vernacular that is closer to the meaning of the Greek word translated “edify,” and that is the word “charge.” We charge a battery; we build it up. Jude 20 says, “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.”

In other words, when a person prays in the Holy Spirit, he charges himself up. He builds himself up like a battery that is charged or built up.

Edifying yourself by speaking in other tongues is just one of the many blessings that God has provided through the baptism in the Holy Ghost. And this wonderful blessing, this glorious gift of the Holy Ghost, is available to every born-again believer.

What To Believe

June 18, 2016"For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures" (1 Cor. 15:3-4).

I read some time ago about a so-called minister of the Gospel who was a man of some acclaim. Some reporters interviewed him when he arrived in a large city about an article he had written.

In the article, he had stated, "There is some question as to whether Jesus ever rose from the dead. And it doesn't really make any difference whether He did or not."

It makes all the difference in the world!

It makes the difference between spiritual life and spiritual death, because that's the way you receive eternal life. That's the way you are born again - by believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died for your sins according to the Scriptures, and that He arose from the dead!

Confession: I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe that He died for my sins according to the Scriptures. I believe that He was raised from the dead for my justification; that is, that I might be set right with God. I believe in my heart that I am the righteousness of God. I am made right with God through what Jesus did.

You can be Saved.

"Oh, but I'm too sinful to be saved!" No! It matters not who you are, or what you have done. Jesus Christ has already paid for your sins on the cross! You just need to accept this great gift of love, and surrender your life to Christ.

John 1:29 ...'Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.'
Romans 5:18 ...'Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.'

The conditions of obtaining the mercy of God are simple and just. God does not require us to do grievous penance or make some great pilgrimage, like the Roman Catholic Church would have you believe. No! God's love is so complete, we need only confess and forsake our sin, and we will obtain mercy through the Son of God who took the punishment for us.

Oh 'behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us!' (1 John 3:1)

"If we confess and forsake our sin; if we come to Jesus in ... humility of soul, acknowledging our inability to remove one spot or stain of sin, and relying wholly on the merits of a crucified Saviour, we may expect forgiveness; for his word is pledged. He has said that he will pardon our transgressions, and blot out our sins. We must dwell upon the matchless love and compassion of Jesus, and not upon our own unworthiness and sinfulness. If we look to ourselves, all will be darkness; but Jesus is all light and life, and we have only to 'look and live.' We may look 'unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame.' [Heb. 12:2.] What tenderness, what mercy, what love, are here manifested!" (Gospel Workers, p.437)

Isaiah 43:25 ...'I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.'

Dear God,
I come to You in the Name of Jesus. I admit that I am not right with You, and I want to be right with You. I ask You to forgive me of all my sins. The Bible says if I confess with my mouth that “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, I will be saved (Rom. 10:9). I believe with my heart and I confess with my mouth that Jesus is the Lord and Savior of my life. Thank You for saving me!

HEALING

It's Our Move

The Book of Luke records the story of a paralytic man whose four friends tried to bring him before Jesus. However, when they reached the home where Jesus was, the place was so crowded that they couldn't get in. So they carried their friend to the top of the house, broke through the roof, and lowered him in front of Jesus (see Luke 5:17-26).

Now this paralytic man was not, as is commonly supposed, healed through the faith of the men who brought him to Jesus. No, he was healed through his own faith. His healing was the result of his own exercise of bold, obedient faith.

The paralytic man was not healed the moment Jesus said, "Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house" (Luke 5:24). It wasn't until the man made an effort to rise up off his mat that the power of God was released. The faith of the paralytic man's friends brought him to the feet of Jesus, but it was his own faith that took him off his bed of affliction.

At times I have been led by the Spirit of God to tell people to arise and walk. And as some of them attempted to rise, we had to hold them up. I had to encourage them to keep their eyes on Jesus. "Don't walk in your strength," I would tell them. "Walk in His strength." It takes faith to do that.

One time in 1943 my wife and I went to the home of a woman who was on her deathbed. Her husband had taken her by ambulance to three different clinics in three different cities. The doctors in all of the clinics said the same thing: "Nothing more can be done for her."

This woman was so weak that you had to put your ear just above her mouth to hear what she was saying. It took all of her strength to speak in a barely audible whisper.

When my wife, Oretha, and I went to pray for her, I knelt by the head of her bed and Oretha knelt beside me. As I laid my hands on her and began to pray, the Word of the Lord came unto me, saying, "Take your hands off of her. Stand up and say to her, 'The Lord told me to tell you you're healed. Arise and walk.'"

After I stood up and told the woman what the Lord had said, she had only enough strength to kick one foot out from under the covers. Two of her neighbors were also in the room. I stepped outside while one of the ladies went to the closet and got her robe and slippers, and my wife and the neighbor ladies helped her put them on. Then they lifted her out of bed and called me back into the room.

This dear woman had wasted away to almost nothing. As the neighbor ladies held her up, her knees sagged almost to the floor.

Well, what do you do at such times? It looked as though nothing had worked. I said, "Let's all lift our hands and praise God, because she is healed." The neighbor ladies lifted up her hands while holding up their own hands to praise God. A time or two the woman began slipping out of their grip and almost slid to the floor. My wife tried to help them as they pulled her back up.

We all praised God for a few moments, and then they quit and looked at me with pitiful expressions, as if to say, "What next?" I said, "The Lord said she is healed. Lift up her hands and praise God, because she is."

My wife tried holding her up by putting her hands around her tiny waist, and the two ladies pulled her up by her arms. And we all started praising God again. As we did, His power came upon this dying woman. She jerked loose from my wife and the neighbor ladies, kicked off her slippers, and started dancing barefoot before the Lord! The next Sunday, she was in church testifying about being raised up from her deathbed.

But you see, we made the first move. This woman used what strength she had to act on God's Word. And we praised God by faith for her healing when it hadn't yet appeared.

We have to cooperate with God by believing in Him and doing what we can to act on His Word if we want to get His blessing.

It may seem as if it is impossible, but if we will make the effort, His power will meet us and take over from there. Just as the paralytic man in Luke chapter 5 and the bedfast woman given up by her doctors to die arose from their impossible situations, we, too, can "arise and walk" in the mighty Name of Jesus.

PRAYER

Prayer is one of the most important aspects of Christian living.  Prayer, simply stated, is talking to God.  God wants us to be in continual relationship with Him through prayer (Philippians 4:6).  Through prayer we are encouraged by God's presence and have the opportunity to praise Him and cry out to Him about the trials of life!  We are called to follow Jesus' example which includes spending significant amounts of time in conversation with God.
With that in mind, we will use this virtual prayer room to provide you with opportunities to grow in your prayer life and as a follower of Jesus Christ.
But above all, when you come here, we encourage you do the most important thing that any one of us can do; and that is to PRAY!

GRACE

.        ... He is Gracious and merciful; Plentius in grace and full of mercy...

         God's grace towards Man is an Unmerited favour or an unqualified goodwill of God. Effort without grace is rendered nothingless but little With God's grace is excellency. We are called by grace, Saved by grace, healed by grace, excell by grace, live by grace and this grace grace that has brought Us thus far will lead us home. We are what we Are and will be what We will be by grace alone.

          God's grace is not a reward, it is a result of God's love and delight over a man. God has not dealt with us after our sins nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. God's grace teaches and it abides. GREAT MEN ARE GRACED MEN!

           ... and of his fullness we have received grace for grace...

Darkness and light

        Are you on the Lord's side. Where are you standing? Who have you submitted your life to and whose servant are you? The Lord will jot take any man by force, but He has given every man a free will to choose and have a desire, nlest the enemy say that the Lord had cheated on him and that, had God left me and you, we will have choose to be with him-the devil.

         Where do you choose to be? Ernestly and tenderly Jesus is calling for the world and the grace that works salvation has appeared unto all men. Receive the solemn invitation of the Lord by hearkning to his gentle voice saying Believe me and Confess me as your Lord and saviour.

Christ is the solution for sin

Believe And accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and saviour and be saved from sin.

OBEDIENCE

         Most calamities that befalls the children of God are products and results of their disobedience. Obedience is better than sacrifice, but if you do not Obey, you will sacrifice. Suffering is indeed set to shaper a man and approve him for success, but the bible says;

        "for it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for welldoing, than for evildoing.

But let none 9-you suffer as a muderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer of as a 

busybody in other men's matters" 1pet-3:17 and 1pet-4:15 .

        Some Children of God Will disobey and suffer because they think they are Intelligent, they so much lean on their own understanding and neglect Some instructions. They ignorantly say that it was a mistake. The truth is that,  just as faith is not in the absence of feat, where there is fear, there is always an element of faith, because where sin abound, grace abound much more. Rom. 5 :20

          Though God indeed will not forsake his People because it has Pleased Him to make Us his people. 1 Sam. 12:22. Though God at times gives a way out and Comfort us, 2 Cor. l: 3-4. How many children of God Suffer today because of belfwill, intellectuals, lust, Malpractices, Contention and Many more which leads to Obedience and enmity against God. God demands Complete Obedience from His Children and We must have the readiness to revenge an disobedience when our obedience is fulfilled, then we would take our place as kings and priests.
